Metro d'Alger - Line 1

We served as MEP subcontractor within the VINCI consortium for Line 1 of the Algiers Metro, delivering all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across 10 underground stations and 23 maintenance buildings.

Completed between 2008 and 2010, the Algiers Metro Line 1 project placed us at the heart of one of North Africa's most ambitious urban infrastructure undertakings. As MEP subcontractor within the VINCI Construction Grands Projets consortium, we were responsible for the engineering, supply, and installation of all MEP systems across 10 underground stations and 23 maintenance buildings serving the metro's train fleet. To execute across multiple stations simultaneously — spread across different districts of Algiers — we mobilised 135 expatriate engineers and technicians, coordinating logistics, safety protocols, and parallel installation programmes in confined underground environments. Underground metro MEP is among the most technically demanding disciplines in construction: it requires precise sequencing, strict safety compliance, and the ability to maintain progress across multiple fronts without interruption. The Algiers Metro demonstrated our capacity to operate in entirely new technical terrain, and remains one of the most challenging and formative projects in our history.
